• Welcome to Outback Safari! We are a group partnership who wanted to give a chance to see and discover “the real Dominican Republic.” All three of us have extensive experience in the tour operating and travel industry, which makes us the tour operators of choice here in the Dominican Republic.

    We started this business in 1997, eager to show people the fabulous Nature Park that surrounds the beach resorts and covers most of this island. We started small with just a few trucks we rigged for safety and comfort, and hired the best guides in the area and trained them our way to ensure that our customers would get the best of excitement and safety, info and entertainment.

    The idea kept growing and today, we've since taken more than 500,000 people out to explore jungle rivers, rain forests and native villages hidden away in the mountains and valleys behind the beach resorts.

Outback Jungle Safari

Outback Safari, founded in 1997, is a lush little slice of paradise hidden among the several wonders of nature in the Dominican Republic. That’s why we have been working closely with the biggest tour operators from all over the world to offer a unique opportunity to explore and discover the Dominican Republic.

1_1 At Outback Safari, customer satisfaction is our main priority. We offer options for a full or half day excursion, and we are always proud to show you our beautiful island. We use 12, 18 and 24-seater converted trucks, fitted with padded seats and safety belts for all passengers, as well as softly padded roll bars and safety chains at the back for added safety and comfort. Each truck also comes with a fully qualified driver and professionally trained tour guide. We have a very strict level of maintenance on our vehicles, which are checked and cleaned daily at the end of each tour. All service and history documents are kept and in line with all tour operator 'vehicle' standards. We provide boogie boards for fun at the beach for our clients, safety equipment and first aid boxes, all kept on board.

Outback Safari has successfully grown for the past 10 years. We now offer tours from Puerto Plata, Bayahibe and Punta Cana where each of our professionally trained guides and drivers will explain the history, culture, plants, animals and the way that Dominicans have lived for over 160 years. We also support the local environment by providing funds for either medicine and scholarships or by distributing educational materials and clothing to local schools, orphanages and communities in need. Much of this has been achieved with the help of our kind hearted and generous customers whose purchases have allowed a portion of the profits to be donated to charity.

Outback Safari is the recipient of several awards, including one for the exclusive 'safari' tour provider for such companies as Apple Vacations(USA), Signature Vacations, Air Canada Vacations(Can) and First Choice holidays, and Cosmos holidays(UK). Outback Safari offers the best tour of the Dominican Republic. Some clients have been on our tours 8 times because of the great service our professionally trained guides provide. Our representation of the Dominican Republic is exact, professional and complete, and always delivered in a light hearted, fun fashion. My brothers, sister and I took your safari tour on Wednesday, February 6, 2008.  Our tour guides were Omar and Juan (driver), and they were amazing!  Omar knew so much about the culture, geography, and history of Dominican, I was amazed!  We were known as the Canucks as we're from Ottawa, Ontario Canada and we drank all the rum and beer on the truck!  I just wanted to point out what a great job our guides did and thank you for making our vacation that much better!

I just wanted to write to say thank you for a great tour. The Outback Safari was definitely the highlight of my vacation.
